Work inspired by the word GRAISSE, referring to the very rich food served during the Christmas holidays in Romania. Provenance: the artist’s close circle. Certificate of authenticity handwritten by Oana Cosug, the artist’s last wife. Dimensions: 42 x 59.4 cm (slight traces of micro-creases along the lower right edge). Philippe Vandenberg (1952–2009) was a multifaceted Belgian artist: he drew, painted, and played with words and images. He was always on the move and took risks to challenge the artistic and social order. A solo exhibition dedicated to Philippe Vandenberg’s final works on paper was held at Bozar in 2020–2021.
