13 - Bertolotti Alessandro Curiosa - The Erotic Library (2012)

Bertolotti Alessandro Curiosa - The Erotic Library (2012) Alessandro Bertolotti opens up his library of "curiosa" - a bibliophilic term for books on eroticism, sexuality and pornography - to reveal the rarest and most important works in his vast collection. Organized thematically, Curiosa, the erotic library takes an uninhibited look at sacred and profane love, the sexual revolution and sadomasochism, through more than 130 illustrated books that have made the history of erotic literature from the 16th century to the present day. From l'Arétin to Sade, from John Cleland to Jean Genet, from Daido Moriyama to Guido Crepax, from Leonor Fini to Eric Stanton, Bertolotti relates artists and books to the social and political realities of their time. Illustrated with over 350 reproductions, this book invites readers to forget the banal, conformist division between eroticism and pornography, and to discover this universe with as much passion as curiosity.
