Large 8vo, dark green Bradel morocco binding, untrimmed, cover in fair condition (Lemardeley). FIRST EDITION, printed on imitation Japanese paper, decorated with two etchings by G. This correspondence, addressed entirely to Dr. Camuset, concerns the illustrations for his book, the printing of the engravings, and the new engraving techniques that the artist claims to have discovered, to Louis Legrand, a young artist whom Camuset had met in Dijon, and whose drawings (included here), created for *Les Sonnets du Docteur*, he had sent to Rops. 4. Three vignettes engraved using the soft-varnish technique, two rejected etchings, and 6 rare states of the etching *La jolie fille en chemise*. LEGRAND (Louis). 25 original pen-and-pencil drawings, monograms, and early works created to illustrate the Doctor’s book. COURBOIN (F.) Portrait of Dr. Camuset, etched in three states (including one with a sketch by Rops). BAYARD (E.) Retouched etching for *Le Homard à la Coppée*.
