CHRONICLES. The Chronicles and Excellent Deeds of the Two Princes, Barons, and Lords of the Noble Duchy of Normandy. And along with this, the wars and dissensions that have arisen between the Normans and the English. Also concerning the conquest of the region and Duchy of Guyenne, supplemented with several fine tales, as one will see upon reading the said book. Newly printed in Paris. They are sold in Paris, on Rue Neuve Notre-Dame, under the sign of Saint Nicholas. (At the end) Here end the Chronicles of Normandy, newly printed in Paris for Jehan Sainct Denys; Pet. in-4, Gothic type in two columns, green morocco, blind-stamped, lined with red morocco with rich, compact small-metal embossing, gilt edges. (Duru, 1855). A very beautiful engraved mark of Jehan Saint-Denis on the title page and printed in red and black at the end of the volume. It is, moreover, illustrated with two other very fine woodcut figures, one at the beginning serving as a frontispiece (full-page and as a separate plate), the other toward the end, half-page in size. Some letters are decorated. This edition of *Chroniques de Normandie* appears to conform, with a few minor exceptions, to Le Talleur’s first edition of 1487 (see Potier’s note on this subject in the *Bulletin Morgand*). A very fine copy, in remarkable condition, in a rich binding whose lining is decorated with compartments featuring small metalwork, executed to perfection, “One of Duru’s finest” (Bull. Morgand). From the Germonière Library (ex-libris, auction of April 28, 1966, no. 55). Featured in the *Bulletin Morgand* (1876, no. 197).
