Comes with box and certificate. Mint condition. “Nono is one of those deceptively simple characters. But I think that, in fact, the very fact that I sculpted him in a traditional way—just as the artists drew him in the series—has really brought him to life. We often think only of the colors, but the interplay of glossy, matte, and satin finishes is also an integral part of a piece’s final look. The funny thing about this sculpture is that I first thought of making a gluttonous Nono, delighted at the idea of savoring that delicious bolt, but as I was sculpting him, I realized that the scene had a certain Hamlet-like quality to it, with Nono gazing at the bolt—which is also one of his components—much like a robot looking at its own skull and wondering, “To be or not to be, that is the question.” Alban Ficat
