Original Watercolor of Arfak Astrapia Description of the work: This remarkable original watercolor was done by J. R. I. circa 1945, though the paper does appear to be late 19th or early 20th century. The lower nomenclature denotes the Latin name for the bird. This was purchased as part of a collection. J. R. I. signed and dated some of the watercolors, but no further information on the artist is available but they are truly impressive and skilled watercolors. One of the watercolors from the collection was done after Major Allan Brooks (1869-1946) a Canadian bird artist and ornithologist. Paper Size: ~ 15" by 22" Paper Type or Special Features: Original Watercolor Condition: The work is in good to excellent condition overall. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
