275 - Charles Catteau

Charles Catteau Grape Cluster Vase Spherical shape Yellow and black enamel on a white crackled background. Marked “B.F.K La Louviere Belgique Ch. Catteau” H 22 cm In perfect condition The spherical shape, one of the purest in the Keramis repertoire, provides Charles Catteau’s design with a continuous surface where the grape clusters unfold in a frieze. The contrast between black and yellow, punctuated by the white crackled background, conveys the graphic energy of Belgian Art Deco. Under Catteau’s guidance, Boch Frères produced designs hand-executed by a team of decorators trained in the studio, giving each piece its own unique character.
