LOUIS FERAUD. Short red jacket in angora, wool, and cashgora, with a stand-up collar, embellished with black braiding and spiral-shaped gold buttons. Circa 1980 Size 38 A Riviera fashion designer who became a leading figure in Parisian haute couture, Louis Féraud made color and volume his signature. Brigitte Bardot, whom he dressed for some twenty films, launched his fame. He presented his first haute couture collection in 1958, alongside Dior, Balenciaga, Lanvin, and Givenchy. This jacket is reminiscent of the work of Yves Saint Laurent. The circus and celebrations have always fueled Yves Saint Laurent’s imagination. In 1972, he designed the costumes for the circus scene in the revue “Zizi, je t’aime,” directed by Roland Petit at the Casino de Paris.
