Large gilded wooden sun mirror with convex glass – Mid-Century style – 20th century Description: Spectacular gilded wooden sun mirror, featuring a large, radiating frame composed of multiple carved branches arranged in bundles of varying lengths. In the center, a circular convex mirror, known as a “witch’s eye,” is surrounded by a gilded molding with several stepped sections. The dynamic, geometric composition of the rays, combined with the richness of the gilding, gives this piece a remarkable decorative presence. A model characteristic of the taste for sun mirrors from the 1950s–1970s, in the spirit of Mid-Century designs.
