Tatti, Giovanni. *On Agriculture*. Venice, Sansovino, 1560–61. Second edition, with a text identical to the original Tatti, Giovanni. *On Agriculture*. Venice, Sansovino, 1560–61. Quarto (200 x 150 mm); [4], 187, [1] leaves. Printer’s mark on the title page and colophon, approximately 300 woodcuts in the text, old marginal annotations in pen (some of which have been restored, including one on the margin of folio 78 with the loss of two words). 18th-century full-parchment binding, spine with gusset and gold decoration, marbled edges. The plates depict plants, fruits, and certain animals harmful to agriculture, such as insects, snakes, mice, etc. The work is divided into five books in which Sansovino, drawing inspiration from and commenting on the classics, addresses all aspects of agriculture. The author, a well-known polymath born in Rome, moved to Venice with his father, the famous sculptor and architect Iacopo Tatti, known as Sansovino; there he opened a printing shop where he printed several of his own works. Mortimer, Harvard, 459; Simon, Bacchica, II, 636; Hunt 87. Second edition, with a text identical to the original
