Wood-engraved typographic ornaments (pages L3 and 4 are missing; the top margin is occasionally trimmed; the title page has been restored.) 18th-century binding in lined cardboard, smooth spine with handwritten title. A rare edition of a curious literary journey by Sebastiano Farfarana, who presents himself under the ironic academic name of “Carefree, Sleepy Academician.” The title evokes Helicon, the mountain consecrated to Apollo and the Muses, the quintessential symbol of poetic inspiration. Printed by one of Bergamo’s most important printers, the volume is listed in bibliographic catalogs but is rarely found on the antiquarian book market.
