Volume containing the two parts of the *Opera Vergiliana docte et familiariter exposita*, printed in Paris by Jean Barbier for François Regnault in 1515. A rare edition from the golden age of Parisian printing Volume containing the two parts of the *Opera Vergiliana docte et familiariter exposita*, printed in Paris by Jean Barbier for François Regnault in 1515, each with its own title page in red and black featuring a woodcut printer’s mark. A fine copy with few flaws. The volume documents the dense network of co-publications that characterized Paris’s Latin Quarter: the printer’s mark belongs to Jean Barbier, a master printer whose career ended around 1515, making this Virgilian masterpiece one of the last and most complex productions of his workshop. The publication was financed and distributed by one of the greatest booksellers and publishers of the era, François Regnault, whose famous elephant-themed printer’s mark appears on the title page. Rare edition from the golden age of Parisian printing
