The text, set in a beautiful Gothic typeface in two columns, is a collection of sermons and meditations dedicated to the Virgin Mary, intended for preaching and the deepening of Marian devotion. The work attests to the centrality of the cult of the Virgin Mary in late medieval spirituality and to the popularity of Franciscan homiletic literature, which was widely disseminated thanks to the printing press.
