Contemporary binding in soft full parchment (a few stains, restoration on the spine). Divided into three parts, the work includes chapters devoted to different breeds, the rearing of foals, selection for quality, dressage, harnessing, veterinary care, shoeing, and training for war and dueling. The author, a native of Pavia, dedicates the work to Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, in whose service he made his fortune by training famous horses.
