1978 MOTO GUZZI LE MANS SERIES 1 • French vehicle registration certificate • Serial number: 15283 • Original, unrestored condition • Invoice records available The history of the first Moto Guzzi Le Mans models began with the chassis designed by Lino Tonti for a factory prototype intended for the 1972 Bol d’Or. The final iteration of this project distinguished itself in 1973 at the 24 Hours of Montjuïc by finishing in fourth place. Unveiled at the Milan Motor Show in 1975, the production version was initially intended to be produced in limited quantities. Given its success and the fact that more than 500 orders were placed immediately upon its unveiling, the brand revised its goals and expanded production. The model presented here is in its original, unrestored condition. It comes with a file of invoices documenting the maintenance work performed. The carburetors were recently synchronized. The seat currently installed is new and true to the original. The motorcycle also comes with a second Stucchi “comfort” leather seat.
