A beautiful illustrated edition of the correspondence of Marshal Hubert Lyautey (1854–1934), offering a valuable insight into colonial realities in Tonkin and Madagascar between 1894 and 1899. First print run of Jean Bouchaud’s illustrations, including 10 beautiful full-color watercolors reproduced as facsimiles by Daniel Jacomet’s art studios, as well as 9 large headers and 9 footers.
