YACCO - c.1940 “85% of automotive world records—M-type motor oil—the oil of world records” Rare original promotional automotive oil can made of lithographed sheet metal, 2-liter capacity. 21 x 17 x 6.7 cm. “Carnaud – Basse-Indre – France” Depicts the Citroën “Rosalie” at full speed. - Overall condition: satisfactory - Colors are well-preserved, retaining good vibrancy and a noticeable sheen. Some warping, as well as scattered oxidation. The can as a whole retains an attractive and uniform appearance. Retains its original cap. Emerging from the industrial environment of Hispano-Suiza, the Yacco brand was founded in 1920 under the leadership of Jean Dintilhac, through the OMO subsidiary dedicated to lubricants. Yacco quickly specialized in motor oils, capitalizing on the boom in the automotive and aviation industries. In the 1920s and 1930s, the brand established itself through an innovative strategy centered on racing and record-breaking, notably with Voisin automobiles (driven by César Marchand) and later the famous Citroën “Rosalie” models, setting numerous speed and endurance records.
