Our Lady with Jesus and John in the centre, Mary with the Infant Jesus at her breast (a *Maria lactans* group); on the left, the young John holding a cross and pointing towards Christ; in the background, views of a mountainous landscape to the left and right; in the centre behind Mary, a tree; the painting is thought to be a copy of an early 16th-century work; other copies such as this have previously been attributed to Giovanni di Lorenzo Larciani (provisional name, also known as the Master of the Kress Landscapes, active in the early 16th century in the Florence area), oil on wood, 18th/19th century, unsigned; on the reverse, an old label with a suggested date of around 1750, an old wax seal, and a note attributing it to the Benedictine monastery at Schwarzrheindorf (now a district of Bonn), mounting strips, signs of age, minor retouching, gilded frame, inner dimensions 64 x 49.5 cm.
