Silver centrepiece, Netherlands Late 19th century, Lion Passant facing right with No. 2 indicating a fineness of 833, key mark for export goods, various hallmarks, including the maker’s mark of Herbert Hooijkaas Schoonhoven (master 1875-1909) and a French import mark (beetle), bulbous vessels with volute handles, the walls richly decorated with scrollwork, flowers and a vertical ribbed pattern, lid finials in the form of animal figures, the spout of the jug shaped as a dolphin, signs of age and wear, traces of oxidation, H max. 18.5 cm, weight approx. 744 g.
