Meissen ‘Gardener’s Child with Grapes’ from a series of 80 figurines, designed by Johann Joachim Kändler 1750-1760, small underglaze blue sword mark on the reverse, circa 1750/60, first-grade piece, naturalistic modelling with polychrome overglaze painting and gold decoration; a girl standing on a round rocaille plinth with a vine tendril draped over her shoulder and grapes in her raised hand, holding up her apron with her right hand to collect the berries, a rare and early version; one finger and part of the bow trim are chipped; otherwise in good condition for its age; height 13.5 cm.
