Picture plate ‘Offerings’ in a Florentine frame based on a painting by the French-American artist Héva Coomans (1860-1939), Italy, c. 1900, unsigned, stamped lily mark with the inscription ‘Firenze’, old adhesive label with handwritten number 105/856 and brushmark ‘Offrandes après Coomans’, tall rectangular porcelain plate with fine polychrome overglaze painting and gold decoration over a pre-printed line pattern, depicting a Roman temple scene with two young women in the foreground symbolically handing over their dolls before the wedding to mark the transition to married life, set in a very beautiful wooden frame, carved with a foliage motif, openwork and expansively crafted, with gold leaf; minimal drying cracks and one tip of the gold leaf loose; otherwise in good condition for its age; plate dimensions 19 x 13 cm, frame dimensions max. 41 x 33 cm.
