VIEWS OF THE GARDENS OF THE PALACE OF VERSAILLES Set of three engravings comprising: -Adam PERELLE (1638–1695), engraver The Enceladus Basin Antique engraving framed under glass 21 x 30 cm (image size) (39.5 x 48 cm with frame) B.E -Nicolas de FER (1646–1720), engraver The Colonnade at Versailles Antique engraving framed under glass 24.5 x 33 cm (image size) (38 x 47 cm with frame) B.E -Adam PERELLE (1638–1695), engraver The Grotto of Thetis Antique engraving framed under glass 19.5 x 28.5 cm (image size) (33.5 x 42.5 cm with frame) B.E These three antique engravings offer a glimpse of the grand landscapes of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV. Adam Pérelle, an engraver renowned for his views of gardens and royal residences, depicts here the Enceladus Basin and the Grotto of Thetis, two iconic features of the gardens designed by André Le Nôtre. The engraving by Nicolas de Fer, meanwhile, depicts the Colonnade of Versailles, one of the park’s major structures, designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart.
