Through a precise study of light and great pictorial mastery, his works bear witness to a movement: postwar realist landscapes. Jean Thomas found fulfillment in traveling throughout France and the world, from the United States to Polynesia. He kept a notebook in which each painting was cataloged and geolocated, and set out to explore the four corners of the world—from Corsica to Normandy to New York."
