1524 - A set of six memorabilia items belonging to BCRA agent Jean Genet, alias Granville, who left occupied France via Spain in June 1943. He was interned there before traveling to Casablanca in November, where he was recruited into the SR. He was transferred to the BCRA in December and arrived in England in February 1944. He was parachuted into France in June 1944 and subsequently served in Paris and Austria until his demobilization from the Vermillon Network and the DGER in November 1945, holding the rank of First-Class Mission Agent and decorated with the Croix de Guerre and the Resistance Medal. FFL parachutist certificate with 5 cotton suspension lines, embroidered and marked “Made in England,” along with a half-size English FFL insignia, from this soldier’s collection sold by AIOLFI in May 2022. The word “FRANCE” for an officer is embroidered in gold canette thread on a black cloth. Parachute embroidered in white thread with a Lorraine Cross added, colloquially referred to as a “champagne cork” by the agents. Collar tab of the type worn by agents, featuring a grenade in gold cannetille on a light gray background. Small version of the FNFL insignia, British-made.
