730 - Pair of hunting and fishing trophy plaques in high relief, in the style of Black Forest carvings. Germany, ca. 1900. Crafted from metal with elaborate polychrome painting in shades of ochre, green, and brown that highlight the three-dimensional volume of the pieces, mounted on oval oak panels. This is an exceptional pair of decorative compositions that capture the classical aesthetic of the traditional still life through an elaborate design featuring flora and fauna: one dedicated to fishing, centered on river fish surrounded by aquatic plant leaves and fishing gear, and the other dedicated to small game bird hunting, depicting a pheasant and quails intertwined with oak leaves and hunting implements. 75 x 35 cm.
