New Midwifery Guide 1728 two parts in one volume, in which it is sincerely taught how to bring all incorrectly positioned babies, whether alive or dead, into the correct position using only one’s hands, and to deliver them safely, as clearly demonstrated by the numerous illustrations; all devised by the author from his own experience, translated from Latin into German for the benefit of German surgeons and midwives; the third edition, written by Henrici a Deventer, Doctor of Medicine Doctor in The Hague, Jena: Johann Rudolph Crökern, 1728, format: small 8°, 8 leaves, 489 pages, 19 leaves, 118 pp., 5 leaves, decorated with woodcut vignettes, capital letters and bound-in, partly folded copperplate plates with corresponding illustrations, two-colour title page and full-page title copperplate, edges stained, full leather binding of the period, in need of some restoration overall, slightly stained throughout, with signs of age and wear from use.
