A helmet for reserve officers of the Württemberg Army, circa 1900 Black-lacquered leather cup (crackled) with a square front visor and gold-plated brass fittings (worn). A screwed-on emblem in the shape of the crowned Württemberg coat of arms, with a superimposed reserve cross made of nickel silver. The cross blade features four star-head screws, a beaded frieze, and a smooth, tall screw-on tip. Leather-covered scale chains attached to riveted geometric rosettes; both cockades made of lacquered sheet iron. Beige silk ribbed lining (slightly stained, small tears, partially detached from the edge), ochre-colored leather sweatband; the old size marking “55” inside the helmet bowl. Slightly damaged, signs of age. A rare helmet in beautiful, age-appropriate condition. Condition: II
