A cap for enlisted men of the Uhlans, a replacement made of sheet metal, circa 1914 Sheet steel, painted black (traces of rust). Square crown, non-removable; riveted front peak. Embossed brass line eagle secured to the front with leather wedges. Old enlisted men’s field insignia (added later). Leather storm strap (cracked) attached to Button 91; on the right, the Reich cockade (rusty). Well-preserved black leather lining (with a few small missing patches); helmet shell lined on the inside with light brown leather. Very rare replacement czapka, visually modeled after the black leather helmet. Condition: II–III
