A helmet for cuirassier officers, circa 1900 Nickel-plated steel shell (scratched, solder marks, front visor re-nickel-plated) with a beaded front visor and a one-piece embossed neck guard, gold-plated non-ferrous metal fittings. Screw-mounted line eagle. Cross-shaped base made of non-ferrous metal with four round-head screws (one missing) and a fluted, removable tip made of white metal. Curved, leather-backed scale chains on trefoil links; both officer’s cockades made of lacquered sheet iron. The interior lining (excluding the silk ribbing) has been completely replaced, including the canopy linings. Refurbished, with some minor damage; shows signs of wear and age. Condition: III
