An M 1816 saber for infantrymen Collector’s piece. Curved back blade (stained, pitted at the tip) with a double-edged hollow grind. The crowned initials “FWR” are etched on both sides at the base of the blade (polished). The manufacturer’s signature “Schimmelbusch & Joest in Solingen” is on the back of the blade. Brass hilt with a heart-shaped guard, a cross on the pommel, and imitation later hallmarks. Black leather sheath, sewn on the reverse side with a sewn-in brass guard plate and carrying hook. Signs of use and age. Length 82 cm. Condition: II
