A Madonna saber for hussar officers, a replica in the 18th-century style Wide, slightly curved back blade (darkened, fine-grained), with a fuller on both sides, double-edged tip, etched on both sides at the base of the blade, featuring a Madonna, the Hungarian double cross, and Latin inscriptions; “Porttenstein” on the back. Brass pommel, black leather-wrapped tang, with a decorative rosette on each side. Accompanied by a wide, black leather-covered scabbard with a wooden core and smooth brass fittings (darkly patinated), featuring two movable carrying rings. Signs of wear and age. Length 93 cm. Condition: II
