An M 1845 helmet for cuirassiers Bell made of silver-plated copper (small dents) with gold-plated brass fittings. Turban made of sealskin (worn, small missing areas and repair stitching), laced four times at the back. Embossed crest with rich fishbladder and laurel decoration (pressure marks, smooth covering added); attached to it is the black horsehair plume (truncated); at the top is a red hair tuft or “marmouset,” with the spout for the restored red feather plucker added on the side. Leather-lined scale bands (restored) on geometric rosettes. Front panel lined with leather; leather lining on the back panel is missing; dark leather flap lining (dry, worn, cracked) with gold-embossed borders. Restored, repaired. Partially slightly damaged; signs of wear and age. Condition: III
