A flintlock pistol for export to the Orient, Limouzin-Lamotte, St. Étienne, circa 1780 Round barrel with a smooth bore, 16 mm caliber. Top surface engraved with a moon and stars; remnants of the original gold plating; surfaces are mottled. Lock plate signed “Jh Limozin Lamotte&Co.” Full-length walnut stock with silver wire inlays; butt with a repaired break; crack in front of the lock counterplate. Finely embossed, fire-gilded brass fittings and thumb plate, worn in places. Replaced wooden ramrod with brass ferrule. Length 49.5 cm. Condition: II -
