A miqueletlock carbine, Luis Santos in Madrid, dated 1702 Octagonal barrel, tapering to a round shape in the style of a baluster, with a reinforced muzzle. Smooth bore, 17 mm caliber. Floral engraving above the chamber with gold-inlaid marks. Gold-lined touchhole. Lightly engraved lock plate with a gold-inlaid mark and signed “Luis Santos en Madrid (1702).” Finely engraved firing mechanism with a slightly carved pan cover. Miquelet lock. Full stock with finely carved fish-scale checkering and engraved iron fittings. Wooden ramrod with horn tip and matching iron threads. Length 69 cm Condition: II +
