A Caucasian flintlock rifle, circa 1820 Round Damascus barrel, tapering from a baluster shape to a polygonal section and then to a teardrop shape, with a slightly flared muzzle. Smooth bore, 19 mm caliber. The top surface of the barrel is extensively decorated with gold inlays; the polygonal section features an inscription set in gold and a faintly stamped mark. East India Company flintlock, engraved with a lion and dated “1807.” The front lock screw does not engage. Full stock with brass barrel rings and an iron trigger guard. Crack on the side opposite the lock; forend reattached. Stock decorated with leg inlays (minor chips on the butt). Butt made of blackened wood, reattached. Iron ramrod. Length 110 cm. Condition: II
