A German campaign sword with scabbard, ca. 1630 Sturdy, tapered blade with a rhombic cross-section; the surface is pitted. Iron guard with a thumb ring; the large terz-side crossguard ring features a strongly arched, perforated guard plate. The front side is decorated with a finely incised floral pattern. The tang features elaborate winding made of iron and copper wire, with brass Turkish bands. Flat pommel with notched decoration on both sides and a side-screwed fist guard. Original leather-covered wooden scabbard with an iron butt plate. Length 112.5 cm. Condition: II -
