A German or Polish segmented bulletproof backplate, ca. 1600 Heavily worked backplate, consisting of ten slightly movable, riveted segments with beveled edges. The armholes feature contrasting, laced edges. The second and bottom segments bear old proof marks. Attached butt ring with a flanged and laced edge. The interior features old leather lining; sturdy rivets on the shoulders for attaching the scale straps; the belly strap is missing. Height 40 cm, weight 9.4 kg. Condition: II +
