A South German bourgonet with a Viennese hallmark, ca. 1530/40 A one-piece, hammered calotte of the “Hungarian type” with four ridges tapering to a point. An iron spring-loaded bushtule riveted at the nape, with two hanging holes above it. Large, upturned visor, tapering to a point with a beaded and laced edge. The cross mark of the Vienna Municipal Armory is stamped at the tip; there is an older, riveted repair on the left side. Hinge-mounted cheek pieces, each with five ear holes; one is torn on the side near the hinge. Original leather loops for the chin strap are preserved. Beaded and laced edges, partially damaged at the nape. Height 23 cm. Condition: II -
