The major part of the collection consisted of 17th century Dutch and Flemish painting and several works were expropriated after WWII by the East German communist government, but returned to the family in 1994. Some of the plates were executed by Speck von Sternburg's wife Charlotte (1787-1836) who was an accomplished engraver and lithographer. The number of plates appears to vary.
