Paris: Published by the Author on the Isle du Palais at the Sphère Royale, 1703. Copperplate engraving with hand-colored borders. 240x338 mm. Sheet size: 258x360 mm. Engraved by C. Inselin, the map is taken from the *Atlas Curieux, or The World Represented in General and Particular Maps of Heaven and Earth*, a famous historical atlas published in Paris between 1700 and 1705 (with subsequent expanded editions published through 1714–1725). (1) Good margins extending beyond the copper plate’s edge, a very faint trace of two vertical folds, and minimal signs of wear.
