185 - Carlo Zucchi, Old-Style Perspective with Entrance to a Building Featuring Statues and Trophies of Arms. ca. 1819–1820. Graphite pencil, pen and black ink, brush and gray and brown watercolor on ivory-colored paper. Signed “C. Zucchi” in pen and black ink in the lower right corner. 300 x 415 mm. The perspective is framed by two large arches with decorated moldings and side medallions featuring figures. Through them, the view opens onto a large building with a series of arches on the ground floor featuring statues in the center, and a colonnaded loggia on the first floor punctuated by trophies of arms. (1) The sheet has been mounted in several places onto an old, lightweight gray cardboard backing and subsequently onto modern cardboard. In the upper part of the composition, there are patches of old mold. A tear at the upper right corner and two minor abrasions.
