Meissen Königliche Porzellanmanufaktur Johann Friedrich Eberlein A Meissen porcelain model of a seated male pagode with a monkey Model of a man seated cross-legged, with a capuchin monkey on one leg and a fruit in the other hand. Hollow base, blue crossed swords mark on the interior. Head and monkey reattached, cushion tassels missing. Height 15.8 cm. C. 1735 - 40, the model by Johann Friedrich Eberlein. The workshop report by Eberlein from December 1735 is already quoted in the catalogue of the von Klemperer Collection, written by Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld in 1928: “A pagoda figure with a monkey modelled in clay.” Provenance South German private collection.
