A carved ivory relief with the Mystical Marriage of St. Catherine Finely worked relief with some almost three-dimensional elements on a slightly convex panel. A drilled hole in the upper centre. Height 12 cm, width 7.2 cm. Attributed to Innsbruck or Augsburg, 17th C. The composition follows a painting by Paolo Veronese, now in the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice. The engraving was made by Agostino Carracci (1557-1602). The sculptor who created this relief introduced a number of deviations from the model, most notably in the depiction of the angels. Marketing authorisation 2026/BE02342/CE for the EU internal market has been obtained. Certificate Marketing authorisation for the EU internal market has been obtained. Provenance Private collection, Belgium.
