Franz Xaver Hellner A Historicist silver communion garniture Comprising a wine ewer, a water ewer and a tray. The tray of double-lobed form; the raised rim engraved “Christus lavit nos de peccatis nostris in sanguine suo”. The ewers with tapering, gadrooned bodies; a winged dragon forming the handle; a three-dimensional eagle forming the thumb rest. The helmet-shaped domed hinged covers engraved A and V for Aqua and Vinum. Partially gilded interiors. Height of the ewers 15 cm, length of the tray 26.2, width 16.1 cm, total weight 572 g.
