From the Views of Rome, a series of 135 plates on which Piranesi began working in 1748 and which he continued to expand with new plates throughout his life. A good, slightly worn proof, in the first state of four, with the address and price, prior to the price being crossed out and the numbering appearing in the upper right corner. Thick laid paper. (1) Fully mounted on heavy cardboard, with three margins as in the original; the top margin has been trimmed and covered with a strip of cardboard. Signs of wear.
