Plates 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 18 from *Collection of Various Capriccios and Nine New Inventions of Borders and Ornaments*, a series of eighteen plates including the title page; all are sequentially numbered in the upper right corner and signed in the lower left corner; the date “1646” appears on the title plate. Excellent prints in the second or third state of 3, following the numbering, on thin laid paper with the “Coats of Arms of France and Navarre” watermark (Heawood, 305) visible on all sheets. ALSO INCLUDED: Id., Collection of Various Vases. 1643–1649. Etching. 83 × 186 mm. De Vesme/Massar, 1045–1050. Complete and uniform series in six plates. Excellent proofs in the third state of three, following the removal of all publisher’s addresses. (12) WORKS 1: All plates trimmed to the edge of the copper, sometimes with very thin to thin margins on some sides, or with a visible impression in places. On the reverse of two sheets, traces of abrasions, likely from detachment. Slight signs of wear. WORKS 2: All sheets trimmed within the copperplate’s border. Minimal paper residue on the reverse of some.
