Inscribed “Cavalieri” in pen and brown ink in the lower left corner of the mount. A rare engraving attributed to Giovanni Battista de' Cavalieri; however, the plate is not listed in the catalog of loose prints compiled by Monica Scorsetti (Giovan Battista de' Cavalieri. Catalog of Unmounted Prints, “Grafica d’Arte,” 2002, nos. 49–50). (1) Engraving trimmed to the mounting line and mounted flush on an old collector’s mount decorated with light green watercolor and fine lines in pen and brown ink. A small portion of the engraving is missing in the lower left corner. With the mount: 580x440 mm.
