Attributed to Sebastiano RICCI (Belluno 1659–Venice 1734) Allegory with Minerva and Time Watching Over the Young Achilles Pen and brown ink over red chalk lines, brown wash on white paper. Formerly attributed to Sebastiano Ricci; annotation on the mounting, possibly in the hand of Jonathan Richardson. Lower right, an unidentified mark consisting of the initial “S” within a black circle (Lugt 2338a). (Paper slightly sun-faded, with stains and losses along the right edge and in the upper right corner). 26.3 x 19.4 cm Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Jonathan Richardson; his seal in the lower right corner (Lugt 2170).
