1988 H. Bonneau, Chateauneuf du Pape, Reserve des Celestins, 3 bottle Bottle conditions : 1htl (in bond) All condition and packaging abbreviations (e.g., owc, ts, lbsl, etc.) are given in their original English form. Refer to our catalog for an explanation of these abbreviations. Wine notes: "...huge, animalistic, prodigious Chateauneuf du Papes, with great balance, purity, and character. The 1989 is the more massive of the two vintages, but it, like many Chateauneuf du Papes of this vintage, is quite backward. The 1988 is also very tight. What magnificent treasures they will be!"(96pts) Provenance: The Art of Collecting: Fifty-three lots from a successful international restaurateur, who ranks among the world’s most important fine art collectors and approaches wine with the same trained eye. Highlights include 1990 Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse, 1970 Latour in bottle and magnum, 1964 Pétrus, eight bottles and a magnum of 1990 Comte de Vogüé Musigny Vieilles Vignes, and six magnums of 2005 Clos de Tart in OWC. White Burgundy centers on fourteen lots of Comte Lafon from 1987 to 2011, and Italy closes with four bottles of 1971 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Riserva. All wines removed from his countryside manor in England. Refer to original catalog header sections for additional information on provenance when available.
