Georgios Zongolopoulos (Greek, 1903-2004) (AR) Poseidon, conceived in 1957 Stainless steel sculpture, numbered 93/100 Length: 33 × Width: 20 × Height: 50 cm Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the George Zongolopoulos Foundation, confirming that the work is a genuine numbered reproduction of the original sculpture Poseidon by George Zongolopoulos. Certificate item code: GZE/SCL/16-2019-93/100. The original Poseidon, a monumental sculpture surrounded by water jets, was awarded First Prize in 1958 in the national competition for the redevelopment of Omonia Square in Athens. A six-metre-high version was installed at the George Zongolopoulos Square – Open Air Glyptotheque of Psychiko, Athens, in 2010, while a related sculpture was installed at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 2014.
